There are many things to love about life in Vietnam in past decades, but over the years, Saigoneers nowadays might have gotten used to a certain standard of living, making it hard to picture a time when cell phones weren‘t a thing and bubble tea parlors didn’t line local thoroughfares.
In this photo collection, compiled by Flickr archivist extraordinaire manhhai, an anonymous photographer toured Saigon and a few southern provinces to capture scenes on the street that piqued their interest. The result was a mish-mash of photos of rather random subjects: from dark-complexioned ethnic minorities to gaggles of children immersing in a makeshift board game on the street.
