Remember that time a VietJet passenger mistook the emergency exit for the bathroom door? How about the one when a first time flier opened the exit on the tarmac to get some fresh air? Or that incident way back in 2012 when a young man threw open the emergency door after spending his entire flight next to a screaming child?

If you answered yes to any of the above, it should come as no surprise that Jetstar Pacific was forced to delay a flight at Tan Son Nhat International Airport last Sunday after a passenger opened the emergency exit, causing the aircraft's evacuation slide to inflate.
It's still unclear why the passenger chose to open the door, but according to Thanh Nien, the Da Nang-bound flight, which was scheduled to take off at 7:50pm, pushed its departure time back an hour while technicians attempted to close the door and repack the evacuation slide.
In addition to inconveniencing the other passengers on the original flight, 34 travelers had to switch to another plane for safety reasons because once you open the evacuation slide, there's no going back.
