Coach Park Hang-Seo Plans to Open Football Academy in Vietnam

He aims to remain in Vietnam after his coaching contract ends.

According to VnExpress, South Korean coach Park Hang-seo, who has achieved levels of national popularity not seen since President Obama ate bún chả, intends to foster young football talent once his current stint at the helm of the men's national team ends.

Lee Dong-jun, Park's spokesperson, shared this information with a Korean-language publication based in Vietnam. The creation of a football academy has reportedly been a longtime dream of the 63-year-old coach.

Late last year, Park signed a three-year contract with the Vietnam Football Federation, meaning he'll have to hold off the academy dream for at least that much longer.

The real-life Korean football god has guided Vietnam's men's national team and the U-23 squad to incredible success over the last two years, creating goodwill between his home country and his current home, while also giving millions of Vietnamese reason to celebrate in the most creative ways they can think of.

Next up for the national team is the next round of 2022 World Cup qualifiers in September, as well as the 2020 AFF Cup, which is scheduled for November 23–December 31.
