Vietnamese rail crossings are notoriously unsafe due to poor signage and lack of barricades. But some pedestrians and motorists aren’t doing themselves any favours by crossing in front of oncoming trains, some of which travel up to 80km per hour.

Date With The Wrecking Ball: Ba Son Shipyard

According to a recent article in Thanh Niên newspaper, the Ba Son Shipyard – Saigon’s oldest and most important maritime heritage site, recognised by the Ministry of Culture and Information in 1993 as a National Historic Monument (Decision 1034-QĐ/BT) – is likely to be sold off to a South Korean investor for redevelopment.

If you happened to pass by the Dien Bien Phu McDonald’s on Monday night or anytime Tuesday, you probably found yourself in a massive plume of motorbike traffic headed directly for the fast food restaurant.
