Located on Hoang Minh Giam Street, the park will be the first designated green space in Thanh Xuan District.

Covering an area of 13.2 hectares, it features a regulating lake spanning eight hectares with the remaining area dedicated to flower gardens and trees, Hanoi Times reports. In addition, a fountain, an amusement park and a five-story parking lot will be included.

Construction of the complex, which began in May 2016 and VND299 billion (US$12.9 million), was funded by the People’s Committee of Thanh Xuan District. As reported by Tien Phong, the district is petitioning city officials to change the name to Thanh Xuan Park.

The idea of the park is to bring more green space to what is often a hectic, claustrophobic city. It is hoped that Nhan Chinh Park will provide Hanoi’s residents and visitors with one more space for sports, relaxing and appreciating nature in an area which is more known for grey concrete, dust and high-rises.

While there will be a small fee during the day, residents will be able to enjoy the green space for free every day from 6am to 9am and 5pm to 8pm.
