Hanoi FC Announce Partnership with Bundesliga Giants Bayern Munich

Vietnamese football has reached new heights this year. Straight off the back of Vietnam’s victory in the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018, V.League champions Hanoi FC have announced an upcoming collaboration with Germany’s Bayern Munich.

In what some might describe as a major coup for the Vietnamese team, an agreement has been signed which will see the two clubs exchanging ideas related to developing and managing football infrastructure, Fox Sports Asia reports.

“The representatives of Bayern Munich met with the officials from T&T Group (owners of the Vietnamese club) on Monday morning,” Hanoi FC said in a statement.

“It is indeed a proud moment for our club, as Bayern Munich is one of the best football clubs in the world,” it said.

“The agreement will see Bayern Munich share their expertise in development of football facilities and exchange ideas regarding the design, build and management of the infrastructure like stadiums and academies,” Hanoi FC said about the deal.

As part of the agreement, Hanoi FC will also set up a Bayern Munich Football Academy in Vietnam in an effort to foster a new generation of Vietnamese footballing talent.

2018 has been an outstanding year for Vietnam football. Under the guidance of coach Park Hang-seo, the national men’s team excelled at three regional tournaments. First, in January, Vietnam reached the final of the AFC U-23 Championship, beating much stronger contenders like Qatar and Iraq to become the first Southeast Asian team to make it that far. Unfortunately, the squad lost to Uzbekistan during an epic snow-covered final in China.

Hanoi FC contributed numerous players to the Vietnam squad that won the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018, including star players such as Tran Dinh Trong, Doan Van Hau, Do Duy Manh, Nguyen Van Quet, Pham Duc Huy and Nguyen Quang Hai.
