VietJet pilots Dang Tien Cuong and Nguyen Phuong Anh are probably the only couple to have snapped their wedding photos on the tarmac at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
The duo, who tied the knot on March 12, spent a decade wooing one another while working in Vietnam's airline industry, reports Tuoi Tre.
Cuong, 34, and Phuong Anh, 30, met as flight attendants while working for another airline years ago, however their marriage almost didn't happen, according to Phuong Anh.
“As we both work in the aviation industry, we know how hard it is to be a flight attendant, so I told him that I did not want to marry a man with the same job,” she told Tuoi Tre. “He shared these concerns with me, and we decided to break up.”
Following their separation, Cuong sold his house to pay for a pilot training course in the United States; he left Vietnam in 2011. Phuong Anh turned up a year later on an exchange program between VietJet and Airbus, becoming the budget carrier's first-ever female pilot.
Upon returning to Vietnam, Phuong Anh worked with VietJet while Cuong took a job elsewhere. He later joined the budget airline in order to be closer to Phuong Anh and last year proposed to his coworker.
When it came time for the wedding photos, the pair decided on a VietJet-themed shoot because of course they did.
