Billionaire Jordan Belfort, the subject of the hit film Wolf of Wall Street, will travel to HCMC in March to hold a workshop where he will “share his secrets to success.”
According to his website, “this 3-Day, high-energy Workshop will give you the knowledge and train you on the specific skills necessary to master both the inner and the outer game of wealth creation.”
The event, which will take place from March 28 – 30, purports to teach people how to sell the Wolf of Wall Street way and follows a similar undertaking in Hanoi last November which attracted 650 local and international businesspeople, reports Voice of Vietnam.
As seen in the Wolf of Wall Street, an adaptation of Belfort’s autobiography of the same name, the former broker was imprisoned in the mid-90s for stock market manipulation and running a boiler room. He spent 22 months in jail as part of a plea deal wherein he gave testimony incriminating numerous former partners and coworkers in the fraud scheme.
He has since remodeled himself as a successful motivational speaker, telling a Dubai audience in May 2014:
"I’ll make more this year than I ever made in my best year as a broker."
After the release of his book, the former Assistant United States Attorney who prosecuted Belfort said that some of the claims in his book were “invented” and that he thinks Belfort’s motivational speaking operation is a "scam."
It’s easy to see how he’s raking in the money as a motivational speaker as tickets for the workshop range from $US698 - $US1,249.
