Throngs of police from Saigon’s Ben Nghe Ward police station arrived at the scene to block off the street and break up the rowdy crowd. 15 people were ultimately detained, including the two 18-year-old ringleaders, V.H.T.V. and D.T.T.V, reports Tuoi Tre.

According to Colonel Thanh, police were aware of the scheduled brawl and were well prepared to handle the fracas.

Ben Nghe Ward police officers said that the fight was set up “because D.T.T.V. said that V.H.T.V. has a square face which the latter believed is ugly.”

The insult led to a slew of insulting videos on Facebook, eventually leading the pair to settle on a fight date.

In addition to the two women, police fined 13 “agitated fans,” VND150,000.
