The abnormally cold weather that has visited Saigon since early December is expected to remain through the new year.
According to Tuoi Tre, yesterday’s temperatures were markedly chilly for the southern hub. Weather Underground recorded temperatures of 23-24°C at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, made cooler still by a slight breeze.
This is notable because such numbers fall below the city’s average of 30-33°C. At the time of writing, the temperature in Saigon according to Weather Underground was 30°C.
In neighboring provinces such as Binh Phuoc and Dong Nai, too, weather outlets have recorded similar conditions. Phuoc Long and Dong Phu, both in Binh Phuoc, recorded temperatures as low as 19.5°C over the last three days, according to the news outlet.
Tuoi Tre warns that temperatures will be coldest from early morning until 10am over the next few days.
