VNCam App Taps Into Street Cams So You Can Beat The Traffic

If you’re planning to hit the streets of Saigon or Hanoi during rush hour, VNCam, a new traffic tracking app, should be of great assistance.

The brainchild of a group of Vietnamese developers, the app, available for iOS, taps into 200 CCTV cameras operated by Vietnam Radio Broadcasting to give you real time views of traffic.

The team is hoping to improve their product by securing an improved API for the CCTV cams (the current feed is only 1 frame/second), adding traffic/weather push notifications and a route spot checker which will tell users if their path is clear.

Though it’s not perfect, we’re for anything that helps us beat the traffic. And it’s free!
