It’s fascinating to see how the Cho Lon area has been developing over the years from a mere trading hub in 1925 to an important center of Chinese heritage in today’s Saigon.
In this collection of black-and-white photos, an unnamed photographer documented the hectic life inside Cho Lon, which started out as a place for merchants to conduct business due to its proximity to the nearby canal system.
Overtime, these vendors settled down and turned the area into a thriving center of commerce and culture.
