These D1 Streets Will Be Closed Tonight

In case you haven't already figured this out, tonight's traffic is going to be a shitstorm. Driving in District 1? Good luck with that.

For the brave souls who are going to be out on the road this evening, it's important to note that several roads in the downtown area will be off-limits, according to Zing.

Beginning at 8pm tonight, sections of Nguyen Tat Thanh, Ton Duc Thang, Dong Khoi, Hai Trieu and Ham Nghi Streets will be closed to traffic as a result of the New Year's festivities, according to the city's transportation officials. This closure will last until 12:20am, however two-wheeled vehicles will also be prohibited from accessing Vo Van Kiet and the Thu Thiem Tunnel between 8pm tonight and 5am on New Year's Day.

Additionally, Nguyen Hue will be off-limits for all vehicles between 7pm tonight and 11pm tomorrow. You can find a detailed list of all of District 1's street closures below.

Officials have also requested that no one congregate at the Khanh Hoi, Calmette, Ong Lanh, Thu Thiem, Saigon and Phu My Bridges, or at the Thu Thiem Tunnel entrance to watch the fireworks. Because that's totally going to happen.

Happy New Year, Saigoneers!
