District 1 Blaze Destroys Luxury Cars, Mobile Phones

Last weekend, a large fire in downtown District 1 destroyed eight luxury cars and hundreds of mobile phones.

The blaze, which began around 11am in the parking garage at 185 Cong Quynh, reports Thanh Nien, quickly spread to a neighboring The Gioi Di Dong electronics shop. Firefighters arrived on the scene and were able to put out the fire by 12:30pm.

There were no human casualties as a result of the incident, however the garage owner estimated tens of billions of dong in damage, including two Bentleys, two Mercedes, a Lexus, a BMW, a Porsche and a Land Rover, according to VnExpress.

Garage attendants were able to save six of the 14 vehicles inside, including one Mercedes, two BMWs and, thankfully, a Toyota.

Though the cause of the fire has not yet been determined, authorities are investigating the incident.
