Good news, non-drivers: Uber has launched its motorbike-hailing service in Vietnam.
Starting on Wednesday, the same UberMOTO program piloted in Bangkok in February went live on the streets of Saigon and Hanoi, according to a press release from the company.
Much like its competitor, GrabBike, which came to Vietnam in 2014, Uber's new service connects lone riders with xe ôm drivers at a discounted rate. There is no base fare for UberMOTO service, however rides must total a minimum of VND10,000. Fares begin at VND3,700 per minute, and users are able to pay in cash or by credit card.
If you've got plans this weekend, you may want to give the new service a whirl: to test its drivers, UberMOTO is offering up to five free rides per passenger from April 21-23, provided the journey does not exceed VND88,000.
