Ho Tram Strip to Get Exclusive Airport for Resort and Casino

VIP guests will soon be able to travel to The Grand Ho Tram Strip faster than ever, as plans are in the works for the construction of a small airport to serve the five-star hotel and casino complex.

Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province officials have agreed in principle to the project, which would be used exclusively to shuttle wealthy visitors between other domestic airports and the resort complex, reports VnExpress.

The airport would be built under the build-operate-transfer model and span 200 hectares of Dat Do District.

If further growth in the area occurs, the investor and local government would consider expanding the airport, reports the news source.

Vietjet flights may be the first to service the new airport, as the Ho Tram Project Company and the airline have signed a memorandum of understanding on future cooperation opportunities, according to Michael Kelly, executive chairman of Ho Tram Strip.

If all goes as planned, the airport would be yet another investment in the Vietnamese aviation industry, which has been stocking its fleets with advanced aircraft and expanding facilities in Saigon, Hanoi, Da Nang and Nha Trang, among others.
