    AAA
The manager of a restaurant in Saigon is under investigation after charging an Australian tourist over US$30,000 for a meal last August.

Traveller reports that Tran Tuan Minh, the manager of a restaurant called Nightfall, charged 45-year-old Australian visitor John David Caracciolo a total of US$30,360. Caracciolo was told that his credit card wasn't working and that he needed to use another one. Both cards were then swiped multiple times by restaurant staff.

Caracciolo filed a complaint against Minh when he discovered the eye-popping charges after he returning home. The money was returned and Caracciolo dropped the issue but police decided to pursue the case, the news site reports.

VnExpress adds that Minh is under investigation for "using computer networks, telecommunications networks, Internet or digital devices to appropriate property". The restaurant closed in October.

Caracciolo's dinner actually cost about VND20 million (US$879).
